Protect your windows that are those all so popular ones that if you take 3 out, you can get in through the window. You can protect it with S hooks, luver locks, glue and for slider doors you can use pins with chains, brooms, wood and or pipes. Get timers for appliances that will turn on and shut off your stuff when you are not home. You can stop your mail and or paper service when you leave the island. Get a BEWARE OF DOG sign even if you don't have one. Get pad locks for your storage. If you can afford an alarm system and or video monitors are great for catching thieves.
