Ilikai Closes Today

It has been open since the mid- 1960's and had even appeared on HAWAII 5-0. As of today, the hotel part is closed for good. This does not affect the condos and other ownerships to the Ilikai property. But, there will be more jobs lost in our community and that is terrible for our economy. Hawaii Kai Storytime

They will be on break for dates July 22nd and 29th and will resume on August 3rd. They have Wednesday Storytime at 1030am and a take home craft along with songs too:) Storytime is located on the second floor inside the library.

Next week, they have a special guest who has a story to tell. Her name is Diane Ferlatte who sings, uses sign language, humor and movement into her stories. Michael Jackson Memorial Service

Today was the open memorial service on TV from LA at the Staple Center for Michael Jackson. His whole family was there along with Brooke Shields, Miriah Carey and other big stars to remember his life. Parent Alert Swimming Pools

Consumer Safety Protection Agency wants all parents to be aware of the proper water drain covers in pools. Be sure and ask the manager or resident owner what kind of drain covers are in the pool. The old ones are known to have an 800 pound force to pull the hair and little people down towards the drain and has a powerful hold and then kills the kids due to downing from the force of suction. Please stay safe because the old ones are still being used and in CA about 90% of Marriot hotels.
